Columbia law professor Tim Wu, a prominent advocate for net-neutrality policies, has joined the office of New York State attorney general Eric Schneiderman. Wu is now a senior lawyer and special adviser for Schneiderman, focusing on issues related to technology, consumer protection, and fair competition in online commerce; he is taking a sabbatical from Columbia Law School.

“If I have a life mission, it is to fight bullies,” Wu told the New York Times upon accepting his appointment. “I like standing up for the little guy, and I think that’s what the state AG’s office does.”
