Sylvie Binder ’22CC, one of Columbia’s all-time great fencers, has received the NCAA Top 10 Award, which each year honors ten recent college graduates for their outstanding achievements as student-athletes and members of their communities.
Binder, who majored in American Studies, was the Ivy League women’s foil champion and Ivy League Foilist of the Year in 2018 and 2019; the National Collegiate fencing champion in foil in 2019; and a three-time All-American. She helped Columbia fencing win a national team title in 2019 and led the Lions to second-place and third-place finishes in 2018 and 2022, respectively.
Previously, Binder was chosen as a national Top 30 Finalist for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
