It’s notable when any Columbian releases a major Hollywood film, but it’s rare to find multiple alumni in a single production’s credits. Kiss of the Spider Woman, an upcoming musical drama set in an Argentinian prison, was written and directed by Bill Condon ’76CC, based on the 1992 stage musical with a book by Terrence McNally ’60CC, music by John Kander ’54GSAS, and lyrics by former Columbia student Fred Ebb. Starring Jennifer Lopez as the fantasy “spider woman,” the movie hits theaters on October 10.
